Erika Ganda

Primary Investigator, Assistant Professor

Erika is a microbiome researcher with a background in veterinary medicine, epidemiology, microbiology, dairy extension and business. Her research focus on the application of innovative technologies to investigate animal health and food safety and the development of practices and approaches that can be applied to the agricultural industry. Her major research interests include microbiome and metagenome techniques, host-microbe interactions, microbial ecology, bioinformatics, epidemiology, artificial intelligence and pathogen surveillance methods.

In the lab, Erika is an advisor to graduate members. She also oversees all laboratory projects and happenings to ensure the lab is functional and generates publications.

“This is a really exciting time to be studying this collection of micro-organisms.”
