Emily Van Syoc, M.S.
Graduate Student
Emily is a graduate student in the Integrative & Biomedical Physiology, Clinical & Translational Sciences Dual-Title PhD Program at Penn State. She has a background in both soil and animal science, two important fields in microbiome research.
In the lab, Emily does laboratory experiments to collect data, but her strong points are in bioinformatics and data analysis. Emily has skills writing code, and analyzing data from experiments using technologies such as R and Roar.
“The Ganda lab is involved in many interdisciplinary projects with collaborators all over the world, and that creates a fun environment where we can research microbiomes in different contexts.”
